Thriving Cities Initiative

Thriving Cities Initiative is an ongoing pilot programme developed by Circle Economy, Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL), and C40 Cities, bringing the Doughnut model to cities as a tool for transformative action.

The programme aims to ask cities this very 21st century question: 'How can our city be a home for thriving people, in a thriving place, while respecting the wellbeing of all people and the health of the planet?'

We are currently pilotting the programme on 3 cities (Amsterdam, Philadelphia, and Portland).

The first public presentation of our work so far is the Amsterdam City Doughnut. Philadelphia and Portland's city Doughnut are not public yet, but are ready to be picked up by the communities, city governance, and businesses to be turned into action.

The programme will be officially launched and shared with the world by Q4 2020.
